DESCRIPTION:In this classic performance the Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami will highlight excerpts from one of the most musical and visually exotic ballets of the 19th century. “Le Corsaire Suite” is a tale of Sultans\, princesses\, maidens and pirates\, with a libretto based on the poem The Corsair by Lord Byron. It was first presented by the Ballet of the Académie Royale de Musique\, Paris\, France in 1856\, originally choreographed by the Ballet master Joseph Mazilier to the music of Adolphe Adam. The new Spanish translated production features the six characters getting into awkward cultural situations\, caught in compromising positions\, and drinking Cuba Libres (Rum and Coke) until a family secret uncovers. \nEl matrimonio secreto is the perfect opera for anyone who loves the music of Rossini (The Barber of Seville) and the comedy of Mozart (The Marriage of Figaro).
