DESCRIPTION:In a tribute to one of the most important composers in music history\, the Mozart Extravaganza will highlight some of the masterpieces by this musical genius in concert. This amazing prodigy\, who started writing music at the age of four\, left a legacy to the world\, and even those who do not know much about the classical style would recognize his name as one of the most important composers from that era. \nThe FCO will have as a soloists two great pianists\, Leonel Morales\, winner of many international competitions such as: First Prize in the Guerrero Foundation International Piano Competition (Madrid)\, First Prize at International Piano Competition “Teresa Carreño” of Venezuela. – Second Prize at International Piano Competition “Cidade Do Porto” in Porto\, Portugal. – Prize with Distinzione in the Concorso Pianistico Internazionale Aosta \, Italy – Prize to the Best Concert Soloist of Korea\, Prize Sommerakademie Mozarteum of Salzburgo and many others\, and his son Leo de Maria\, who is building a solid and prestigious career\, winner of First Prizes in the International Piano Competitions Ciudade de Ferrol (November\, 2017. Spain)\, MozARTè (September\, 2016. Germany)\, Grand Prix de Lyon (June\, 2016. France)\, and the National Prize Cultura Viva 2018 to the Artistic Revelation. \nThey will interpret Mozart piano concertos No 13 in C Major KV 415 and No 20 in D minor KV 466. DESCRIPTION:Marlene Urbay\, with the Florida Chamber Orchestra\, presents Herencia Cubana IV\, featuring Cuban composers from the 19th century. As a part of the Cuban Heritage concert series the Florida Chamber Orchestra and its conductor\, Maestro Marlene Urbay\, will present a highlights of important composers of the 19th century with special attention to the music of Lico Jimenez. Cuban musicologist\, Isidro Betancourt\, has been researching and working for years to rescue the music of Lico Jimenez\, whose career is unknown inside Cuba. Maestro Urbay has joined the project to rescue Jimenez’s music\, presenting to the world another Cuban composer who shaped the greatness of Cuban music of the 19th century. This research work ended with the premier of a CD with his unpublished music which is part of the program of this concert and will be available at the concert. \n————————— \nPLEASE NOTE: Before attending\, please review our updated Health & Safety Measures for indoor performances at Miami-Dade County Auditorium. But stubborn Lise is in love with Colas – a boy with very little. Choreographed by Jean Dauberval\, the ballet premiered at the Grand Theatre de Bordeaux in 1789 – two weeks before the French Revolution. It is a landmark of modern ballet repertory – having lived through many revivals\, title changes\, and six scores. \nThe Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami continues to recognize the work\, dedication\, and cultural legacy of dance in our community by prominent teachers and choreographers of our city – honoring them with the “Artistic Achievement Award”. SUMMARY:Cuban Classical Ballet presents "Le Corsaire Suite"
DESCRIPTION:In this classic performance the Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami will highlight excerpts from one of the most musical and visually exotic ballets of the 19th century. “Le Corsaire Suite” is a tale of Sultans\, princesses\, maidens and pirates\, with a libretto based on the poem The Corsair by Lord Byron. It was first presented by the Ballet of the Académie Royale de Musique\, Paris\, France in 1856\, originally choreographed by the Ballet master Joseph Mazilier to the music of Adolphe Adam. The ballet has many celebrated passages which are often performed independently – the scene Le Jardin Animé\, the Pas d’Esclave\, the Grand Pas de Trois des Odalisques\, and the most celebrated\, the “Le Corsaire Pas de Deux\,” among classical ballet’s most iconic and performed pieces. \n————————— \nPLEASE NOTE: Before attending\, please review our updated Health & Safety Measures for indoor performances at Miami-Dade County Auditorium.
