SUMMARY:Teatro Avante Presents: Ubú Pandemia by Abel González Melo
\nAmid an unprecedented social crisis\, King Ubú is forced to return to the island he founded\, the mythical Uba\, whose people have rebelled in response to widespread poverty. To top it off\, a hitherto unknown pandemic is overrunning the world at lightning speed and threatening to spread onto the island. Convinced of the residents’ immunity\, Ubú launches an unusual campaign to build up the country in the midst of the disaster\, not realizing his strategy will prompt a fateful outcome. Written by Abel González Melo and directed by Mario Ernesto Sánchez. \n————————— \nPLEASE NOTE: Before attending\, please review our updated Health & Safety Measures for indoor performances at Miami-Dade County Auditorium. SUMMARY:Conecta: Miami Arts present "Delirium" by Neher Jaqueline Briceño
DESCRIPTION:Once again\, the director of “Pabellón psiquiátrico 305” prepares her patients to compete before a cultural commission that allows them to present their show outside the hospital as part of their therapy. Patients lose control as they bring to life the mythical characters of French comedian Jean-Baptiste Poquelin “Moliere” in honor of the 400th Anniversary of the birth of one of the fathers of comedy. Madness becomes a hilarious display of histrionics and alienation with 13 characters trapped in rehab that exposes them as vulnerable and flawed creatures\, but with a heavy dose of humor and innocence. \n————————— \nPLEASE NOTE: Before attending\, please review our updated Health & Safety Measures for indoor performances at Miami-Dade County Auditorium. SUMMARY:36th Int. Hispanic Theatre Festival of Miami: "Alacran o La Ceremonia"
\nScorpion or The Ceremony emerges from the gypsy splendor that allows its history to bleed out amidst obscenities\, the zambra dance\, and thorns. This scoundrel gathers with himself each night\, thrusts himself into the performance with a flamenco cry\, sprinkles it with courage\, and begins his interpretation of “La Cangrejo\,” the woman who was the love of his life and is no longer here. Alacrán comes to remember her while he settles into the black\, funny\, and absurd tragicomedy that is his life. A story of a love triangle in the heart of sordid Spanish taverns. \nThis play will be presented in Spanish. \nThis performance is part of the Hot Theatre Summer Series 2022.  \n————————— \nPLEASE NOTE: Before attending\, please review our updated Health & Safety Measures for performances at Miami-Dade County Auditorium. SUMMARY:Mozart & Salieri: A Theatrical Concerto by Alexander Pushkin
\n————————— \nPLEASE NOTE: Before attending\, please review our updated Health & Safety Measures for indoor performances at Miami-Dade County Auditorium. SUMMARY:"Marguerite" by Neher Jacqueline Briceño
\n————————— \nPLEASE NOTE: Before attending\, please review our updated Health & Safety Measures for indoor performances at Miami-Dade County Auditorium. SUMMARY:Las Voces de Penélope
DESCRIPTION:“The Voices of Penelope” tells the intimate untold story of the wife of Odysseus\, hero of “The Odyssey”. In modern feminism\, Penelope embodies one of the most traditional yet controversial female archetypes: the woman who waits. The story follows three different women in two different time periods who oscillate between love\, irony\, and humor only to discover that “to wait is to resist and that Time is not an enemy: it is a fellow traveler”. Written by the Spanish playwright Itziar Pascual\, directed by Eugenia Sancho\, and performed by actors Letty Carmona\, Blanca Jara\, and Eugenia Sancho. \nThis performance is presented in Spanish. \n————————— \nPLEASE NOTE: Before attending\, please review our updated Health & Safety Measures for indoor performances at Miami-Dade County Auditorium.
