SUMMARY:XXXII International Hispanic Theatre Festival: Todo Lo Que Está A Mi Lado
\nABOUT THE PLAY\nInspired after a dream\, Todo Lo Que Está A Mi Lado tells a poetic story of a forgotten memory during childhood. A unique experience ensues from this performance that combines one actress\, one spectator and one bed. \nPart of our Hot Theatre Summer Series \nPLEASE NOTE: New procedures are being implemented in an effort to enhance the safety of our patrons and all those who visit MDCA. These new measures may include bag checks at our lobby doors. Please allow yourself a bit of extra time while planning your trip.

SUMMARY:10 Million by Argos Teatro (Cuba)
DESCRIPTION:FUNDarte & Copperbridge Foundation in association with Miami-Dade County Auditorium present\, “10 Million” by Argos Teatro. This theatre piece is a portrayal of a generation depicting the life of a young boy growing up in the tumultuous aftermath of Fidel Castro’s revolution in Cuba. Torn between his communist mother and alienated middle-class father\, he seeks to find his own way in a world turned upside-down by history. \nEvery day we reinvent our biographies and forget the prior one in a collective amnesia that looks at the present without any links to that which we thought previously. This piece is an interpretation of the incongruent past\, of its darkness\, and of the uncertain; of those that we once were and no longer understand; the many others that we used to be and later buried in order to survive. One could attempt to define Ten Million as a story about the wasted memory of what we once were. \nPLEASE NOTE: New procedures are being implemented in an effort to enhance the safety of our patrons and all those who visit MDCA. These new measures may include bag checks at our lobby doors. Please allow yourself a bit of extra time while planning your trip.

SUMMARY:El Puerto de los Cristales Rotos (Harbor of Broken Glass)
DESCRIPTION:In the first half of the 20th century\, no incident was more representative of both the United States’ controversial immigration policy and the Cuban government’s staggering apathy than the island nation’s refusal in 1939 to allow 937 passengers on the MS St. Louis\, most of them Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi Germany\, to land in Havana. Most of the refugees failed to find safe harbor and were forced to return to the terrifying Europe of Hitler’s time. Harbor of Broken Glass was inspired by this historical event. \n*Performed in Spanish with English super-titles. \nPLEASE NOTE: New procedures are being implemented in an effort to enhance the safety of our patrons and all those who visit MDCA. SUMMARY:Chiflón\, El Silencio del Carbón
DESCRIPTION:Fundarte in partnership with the Miami-Dade County Auditorium present\, “Chiflón\, el silencio del carbón\,” by Silencio Blanco Theatre Company. This magnificent and poignant work establishes a unique theatrical language using white marionettes set in a universe of random sounds lacking dialogue\, the signature aesthetic of Silencio Blanco. The work tells the story of a mining community in Chile in a lyrical and beautiful composition of visual wizardry and skillful puppetry. \nThe Silencio Blanco Theatre Company will also host a theatre workshop for local artists. \n*This engagement of Silencio Blanco is made possible through Southern Exposure: Performing Arts of Latin America\, a program of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. \nPLEASE NOTE: New procedures are being implemented in an effort to enhance the safety of our patrons and all those who visit MDCA. These new measures may include bag checks at our lobby doors. Please allow yourself a bit of extra time while planning your trip.

DESCRIPTION:Miami Dade County Auditorium and Arca Images present Lorca en un Vestido Verde (Lorca in a Green Dress)\, written by Pulitzer Prize winner Nilo Cruz. This play about the spellbinding life of the great Spanish poet\, Federico Garcia Lorca\, is like a surreal painting made by Salvador Dalí\, a study of the unbreakable human spirit. \nPLEASE NOTE: New procedures are being implemented in an effort to enhance the safety of our patrons and all those who visit MDCA.
These new measures may include bag checks at our lobby doors. Please allow yourself a bit of extra time while planning your trip.

SUMMARY:Entremeses de Miguel de Cervantes
Nuestros preciosistas suenan a hueco… Dirigido por Nilo Cruz (part of New Works Open Theatre Reading Series) \nPLEASE NOTE: New procedures are being implemented in an effort to enhance the safety of our patrons and all those who visit MDCA.
