DESCRIPTION:Marti Productions\, Inc.\, in partnership with Miami-Dade County Auditorium\, presents Cecilia Valdés in Concert by Gonzalo Roig on October 11 & 12 at the Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center.  \nThe Cuban zarzuela Cecilia Valdés\, considered a signature work by maestro Gonzalo Roig\, returns to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Week 2025. This concert presentation will revive the musical pieces from the original\, premiered in 1932 in Cuba\, and includes artistic direction by Manny Albelo and musical direction by Marlene Urbay leading the Florida Chamber Orchestra. \nThis presentation highlights the participation of the IFÉ-ILÉ Afro Cuban Ballet Company\, directed by Neri Torres\, while the choral sections are performed by Voices of Miami\, conducted by Greisel Domínguez. Featuring the great Cuban-American soprano Église Gutiérrez in the role of Cecilia Valdés on Saturday night\, October 11 and Puerto Rican soprano Marinel Cruz on Sunday\, October 12. On both nights\, the role of Leonardo de Gamboa will be played by Uruguayan tenor Martin Nusspaumer\, along with renowned figures from the opera and theater worlds. \nPresented in Spanish (Presentado en español). \n————————— \n \nThis performance is part of Miami-Dade County Auditorium’s Away From Home Series. Programming continues to thrive during this period of renovation through the Away From Home Series. The series consists of off-site performances presented at alternative venues with community partners\, ensuring that the magic of the performing arts continues to captivate audiences throughout this transition period. The Away From Home Series presents dance\, theatre\, and music performances that take place at a variety of South Florida facilities and cultural centers.
