DESCRIPTION:FUNDarte and Miami-Dade County Auditorium presents “Apocalipsync” by Luciano Rosso on Saturday\, April 11 at 8:00 pm and Sunday\, April 12 at 2:00 pm at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center.  \nLuciano Rosso (Argentina) brilliantly plays about forty crazy and witty characters who accompany him on an endless journey in the solitude of his apartment. On stage\, he uses his elastic body to display all his talents: dance\, clowning\, contortionism and\, in particular\, lipsync (lip synchronization). It is an overwhelming and hilarious show about the many ways to avoid boredom. \nThis performance is part of FUNDarte’s Out in the Tropics series\, a yearly international performing arts series featuring daring and innovative artists that address issues of freedom of expression\, gender\, and sexuality. \n————————— \n \nThis performance is part of Miami-Dade County Auditorium’s Away From Home Series. DESCRIPTION:FUNDarte and Miami-Dade County Auditorium present “Crónica de un suceso” by Rafael Ramírez on Saturday\, November 1 at 8:00 pm and Sunday\, November 2 at 2:00 pm at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center. \nTraveling back in time\, and examining what was\, leads us to Antonio Gades (1936-2004)\, to his vision of flamenco dance and to our interpretation of the dancer and his time. Gades stands out as an artist\, a beacon\, a unifying thread\, and an undeniable protagonist\, and we\, his dedicated observers\, aspire to draw him closer in each one of our performances. Gades is remembered for what he brought to flamenco and because of his contributions\, flamenco has become what it is today. He is the personification of a of a time that was\, “Crónica de un suceso.” Rafael Ramírez is a multifaceted artist renowned as a dancer\, choreographer\, and actor who has graced stages worldwide with his exceptional talent. \nFL.Flamencos continues FUNDarte’s series dedicated to the Spanish-born genre\, presenting a splendidly diverse range of performances\, including the latest in traditional and radically contemporary flamenco forms performed by Spain’s most notable and risk-taking artists. \n————————— \n \nThis performance is part of Miami-Dade County Auditorium’s Away From Home Series. DESCRIPTION:FUNDarte and Miami-Dade County Auditorium\, with Aventura Arts and Cultural Center\, present “Rayuela” by Marco Flores on May 2 & 3 at Aventura Arts and Cultural Center\, as part of the Out In The Tropics series. \nRayuela\, meaning ‘hopscotch’ in Spanish\, is the newest creation of versatile artist\, Marco Flores. Flores celebrates the first 20 years of his career in this piece that is a metaphor for his life where he is accompanied by renowned musicians\, cantaor David Lagos and the guitarist Alfredo Lagos. \nMarco Flores (National Flamenco Award winner) was born in 1981 in Arcos de la Frontera\, Cádiz. At age 18 he joined Sara Baras and Rafaela Carrasco’s dance companies. He was also a guest artist in Mercedes Ruiz and Miguel Angel Berna’s dance companies. Nowadays Marco Flores tours around Spain and abroad with his productions. He also choreographs for many artists and companies. He recently choreographed for Daniel Doña’s dance company\, Fortea Conservatory in Madrid and also for Ballet Nacional de España in “Alento y Zaguán”. \n————————— \n \nThis performance is part of Miami-Dade County Auditorium’s Away From Home Series. Part of FUNDarte’s annual FL.Flamencos series. \nCreated by Sonia Franco Gutiérrez\, dancer\, choreographer and actress who has premiered dance shows around the world\, “Ser. Rana” is an omen. It is an experience that transforms movement and releases the desire to dance\, like water that cannot be contained\, like the flow of the river that you have inside you and does not cease\, transforming your body through flamenco while you travel through impossible scenario… like the frogs that get lost outside their pond. With original music created for this trip\, flamenco is at the service of the movement and connects directly with the viewer through a minimalist aesthetic.
