Presented by the Antumapu Folkloric Ballet University of Chile\, this performance journeys through the diverse landscapes and expressions of the country\, from the mystical Rapa Nui to the vibrant rhythms of the north and south. Moss Cultural Arts Center.  \nThe Cuban zarzuela Cecilia Valdés\, considered a signature work by maestro Gonzalo Roig\, returns to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Week 2025. This concert presentation will revive the musical pieces from the original\, premiered in 1932 in Cuba\, and includes artistic direction by Manny Albelo and musical direction by Marlene Urbay leading the Florida Chamber Orchestra. \nThis presentation highlights the participation of the IFÉ-ILÉ Afro Cuban Ballet Company\, directed by Neri Torres\, while the choral sections are performed by Voices of Miami\, conducted by Greisel Domínguez. Featuring the great Cuban-American soprano Église Gutiérrez in the role of Cecilia Valdés on Saturday night\, October 11 and Puerto Rican soprano Marinel Cruz on Sunday\, October 12. DESCRIPTION:ARCA Images and Miami-Dade County Auditorium\, in partnership with Roxy Theater Group\, presents “Memento Mori” by Sergio Blanco on October 23 & 24 at 8:00 pm at the Westchester Cultural Arts Center.  \n“Memento Mori” (Celebration of Death) follows the line of autofiction and is a monologue performed by the author himself\, Sergio Blanco\, in the form of a lecture. With text\, direction and interpretation by Sergio Blanco\, design and visual operation by Philippe Koscheleff\, and photographs by the famous Uruguayan photographer Matilde Campodónico\, the show invites us to participate in an exhibition about death that impacts with its acuity and beauty. \n“Memento Mori” (La Celebración de la Muerte) sigue la línea de la autoficción y es un monólogo interpretado por el propio autor\, Sergio Blanco\, en forma de conferencia. Con texto\, dirección e interpretación de Sergio Blanco\, diseño y operación visual de Philippe Koscheleff\, y fotografías de la famosa fotógrafa uruguaya Matilde Campodónico\, el espectáculo nos invita a participar en una exposición sobre la muerte que impacta por su agudeza y belleza. \nPresented in Spanish with simultaneous audio translation in English. La obra reimagina a la legendaria profetisa griega Kassandra como una inmigrante transgénero en la Europa actual\, que lucha por sobrevivir en los márgenes de la sociedad. A través de su inglés rudimentario pero elocuente\, Kassandra vende productos de contrabando mientras comparte su historia personal y la universalidad de la experiencia del desplazamiento. \nUnder the direction of prestigious theater director Carlos Celdrán\, “Kassandra” offers a unique fusion between classical myth and contemporary reality. The play reimagines the legendary Greek prophetess Kassandra as a transgender immigrant in modern-day Europe\, struggling to survive on the margins of society. Through her rudimentary yet eloquent English\, Kassandra sells contraband goods while sharing her personal story and the universality of the experience of displacement. \nPresented in English with simultaneous audio translation in Spanish. SUMMARY:MDCA Away from Home: Dúo Belcorde in Concert "Music from Both Sides of the Atlantic"
DESCRIPTION:CCEMiami (Centro Cultural Español) and Miami-Dade County Auditorium present Dúo Belcorde in Concert “Music from Both Sides of the Atlantic” on Saturday\, October 25 at 8:00 pm at the Koubek Center. \nWith the title “Music from Both Sides of the Atlantic\,” the Belcorde Dúo\, formed by Manuel Briega (violin) and Adrián Fernández (guitar)\, presents a musical show full of rhythm and color. All the compositions selected for this concert program will be widely recognized due to the close historical and cultural ties that bind us on both sides of the Atlantic. Cultural union and similarities in the concept of melody and rhythm will make the audience quickly connect with the music and enjoy each musical piece. Violin and Spanish guitar unite in perfect symbiosis\, making these instruments the perfect transmitters of this repertoire that reflects the essence of both territories. \nCon el título “Música de ambos lados del Atlántico”\, el Dúo Belcorde formado por Manuel Briega (violín) y Adrián Fernández (guitarra) pone en escena un espectáculo musical lleno de ritmo y color. Todas las composiciones seleccionadas para este Programa de concierto serán ampliamente reconocidas debido a los estrechos lazos históricos y culturales que nos unen a ambos lados del Atlántico.
