DESCRIPTION:ARCA Images and Miami-Dade County Auditorium\, in partnership with the Roxy Theater\, presents “Un viaje de Navidad Villancicos de Hispanoamérica” on Sunday\, December 8 at the Westchester Cultural Arts Center (WCAC). \nChristmas has its own musical manifestations in each region of Latin America derived from the traditional Spanish Christmas carol. This is a voyage that describes Christmas through its most traditional and emotional songs\, a musical history of Christmas carols in Spanish from the Iberian Peninsula to the farthest reaches of the American continent. \nLa navidad tiene manifestaciones musicales propias en cada región de Latinoamérica derivadas del villancico tradicional español. Este es un recorrido que describe la navidad a través de sus canciones más tradicionales y emotivas\, una historia musical del villancico en español desde la península ibérica hasta los confines más recónditos del continente americano. \nPart of MDCA’s Very Merry Holiday Season 2024 series. \n————————— \n \nThis performance is part of Miami-Dade County Auditorium’s Away From Home Series. En el apogeo de su carrera\, después de sufrir ataques y críticas por parte de algunos comisionados y representantes de las instituciones culturales del país\, quienes la acusaban decrear una obra pesimista y derrotista que se alejaba de la nueva realidad social\, optó por retirarse y permanecer en silencio en la escena artística durante más de veinticinco años. En el texto\, un director de teatro intenta “vender” un proyecto sobre Antonia a productores\, bienales y teatros en Europa.
