DESCRIPTION:Marlene Urbay\, with the Florida Chamber Orchestra\, presents Herencia Cubana IV\, featuring Cuban composers from the 19th century. As a part of the Cuban Heritage concert series the Florida Chamber Orchestra and its conductor\, Maestro Marlene Urbay\, will present a highlights of important composers of the 19th century with special attention to the music of Lico Jimenez. Cuban musicologist\, Isidro Betancourt\, has been researching and working for years to rescue the music of Lico Jimenez\, whose career is unknown inside Cuba. Maestro Urbay has joined the project to rescue Jimenez’s music\, presenting to the world another Cuban composer who shaped the greatness of Cuban music of the 19th century. DESCRIPTION:Important Notice: Advanced ticketing for this event is now closed\, but availability will open up on show day. Please arrive 30 minutes before curtain to be seated on a first-come\, first-serve basis after ticketholders are accommodated. Empty seats will be released to the standby line 15 minutes before curtain. This does not guarantee you a ticket or entry.\nAlhambra Orchestra presents a free family Halloween concert featuring movie themes and dramatic classical pieces\, performed by a huge orchestra with projected images to enhance the supernatural experience. This one-hour kid-friendly show will feature movie themes from Frozen\, Ghostbusters\, Apollo 13 and Star Wars\, plus excerpts of classics Night on Bald Mountain\, Firebird Suite and Symphonie Fantastique. The audience is encouraged to wear Halloween costumes or simply come as you are to enjoy the show! This concert is presented in partnership with Greater Miami Youth Symphony and The Children’s Trust. \nThere will be a service fee of $0.75 per ticket when RSVPing online through Ticketmaster. RSVP in-person at the MDCA box office\, open Monday-Friday at 9am-4pm\, to avoid service fee charges.
