SUMMARY:The Very Hungry Caterpillar
DESCRIPTION:Three beloved stories by Eric Carle\, award-winning children’s book illustrator and author\, are retold on stage through the magic of black light and fanciful puppets. The Very Hungry Caterpillar follows the wonderful adventures of a very tiny and very hungry caterpillar as he eats his way through an amazing variety of foods on his path to becoming a beautiful butterfly. High up in the sky\, Little Cloud playfully transforms himself into various creatures\, including a sheep\, an airplane\, a shark and more. The Mixed-Up Chameleon is bored with his life\, sitting about predictably changing color all day. Following an adventurous trip to the zoo\, he attempts to emulate the beautiful animals he sees before coming to the conclusion that there is value in his own unique self. \nAdmission is free; but\, a ticket is required. \nImportant Notice: Advanced ticketing for this event is now closed\, but availability will open up on show day. Please arrive 30 minutes before curtain to be seated on a first come first serve basis after ticketholders are accommodated. Empty seats will be released to the standby line 15 minutes before curtain. This does not guarantee you a ticket and entry. \nPLEASE NOTE: New procedures are being implemented in an effort to enhance the safety of our patrons and all those who visit MDCA. These new measures may include bag checks at our lobby doors. Please allow yourself a bit of extra time while planning your trip.

SUMMARY:FGO: Frida by Robert Xavier Rodríguez
DESCRIPTION:Robert Xavier Rodríguez’s colorful score is a perfect match for the passionate art of the legendary Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Although the artist was wracked by agonizing physical pain and caught up in a stormy marriage to Diego Rivera\, the flame that fueled Kahlo’ art just kept burning and never turned to ash. She created fifty-five self-portraits. But no portrait of her is quite as revealing as the one in Rodríguez’s opera. (Sung in English and Spanish with English and Spanish projected translations) \nPlease note: No late seating / No reentry / Children are not allowed / Adult content / Partial nudity \nFood and beverage will be allowed in the lobby but not inside of the Auditorium. \nThe doors will open 90 minutes before show time. \nPLEASE NOTE: New procedures are being implemented in an effort to enhance the safety of our patrons and all those who visit MDCA. These new measures may include bag checks at our lobby doors. Please allow yourself a bit of extra time while planning your trip.
